Fed: Beattie wants new Qantas carrier to be located in Cairns =2

Queensland Opposition Leader Mike Horan said he would support Mr Beattie's campaign
to lure a new airline to Cairns.

"I wouldn't like to see this project lost from under our nose ...," Mr Horan said in a statement.

Mr Horan said Queensland was Australia's gateway to Asia and was therefore the obvious
choice for the headquarters of the proposed new airline.
