Vic: Thousands of unionists march to support court-bound Kingham
Victorian union leader MARTIN KINGHAM is marching with about 3,000 supporters to theMelbourne Magistrates Court where he's due to appear shortly.
A second group of several thousand KINGHAM supporters is also converging on the magistratescourt.
Police are assisting the two marches by stopping early-morning commuter traffic asthe unionists head towards the city's legal precinct.
Mr KINGHAM, Victorian secretary of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union,is due in court at 10am (AEST).
He's charged with two counts of breaching the Royal Commissions Act after allegedlyfailing to cooperate with the royal commission into the building and construction industry.
Mr KINGHAM has pleaded not guilty to both counts.
The hearing is expected to take four days.
